To qualify for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, riders must be 19 (born before 01.01.2008) or older. Age-based categories reflect the cyclist’s age as of 31 December 2026. If a cyclist ages into a new category by the next year, they’ll be adjusted accordingly in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
For UCI Gran Fondo World Series finals qualification:
Only cyclists without UCI points can be classified. Those with UCI points can participate, but won’t be classified.
Only participants registered in the qualification category corresponding to their age and gender, and who actually start in that category, are eligible to qualify. Participants registered in the Leisure category are not eligible for qualification.
Women of all age groups and Men aged 65-75+ can participate in the Gran Fondo course, starting in their age-specific box. But, qualification for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships isn't available.
Male riders aged 19-64 can opt for the Medio Fondo, start in their age-specific box, but won't qualify for the World Championships.
This is not a closed-road race. The roads are officially open to normal traffic — police officers will be present at all major intersections to block traffic and ensure your safety during the race. For approximately 2 hours after the first rider has passed, intersections will remain secured. A dedicated vehicle will follow the course to indicate when the safety window has passed — riders behind this car will have to follow standard traffic rules.
For participants wishing to set off alongside friends from different age categories or those preferring a more relaxed commencement, the Leisure Ride is ideal. While it follows the same course as the Gran Fondo or Medio Fondo, this option allows you to start after the riders aiming for qualification.
Leisure riders will start in the designated leisure ride area, located right behind the start boxes for each age category.
Grab at least 5 of your best cycling buddies, friends or work colleagues and form a team to compete on the Medio Fondo or Gran Fondo course. The results will be determined by the sum of the 5 fastest team times.
For little riders aged 2 to 7: medals, fun and the chance to cross the champions’ finish line just before the Gran Fondo leaders!
Starts Saturday 30 May at 10:45 a.m.
Free but spots are limited.
